Early Spring Bi Luo Chun Green Tea 2023| Eco-Cha Tea Club
Batch 89 of the Eco-Cha Tea Club is an early spring Bi Luo Chun Green Tea that was harvested on March 12, 2023. The photo above shows the leaves after tumble heating and being gently rolled. Here they are resting and cooling off, before going through the conveyer belt dryer.
Shown above are the leaves as they are being spread evenly on their way into the drying machine for the primary run. They go through this dryer twice to become completely dried. We arrived as our leaves were being dried, and helped to package them into bulk bags.
Bi Luo Chun Green Tea is made from very young leaves and leaf buds of the Qing Xin Gan Zai cultivar that is unique to this region and type of tea production. The very first new spring growth is distinctively the best quality produce —when the plants are putting forth their initial burst of life after being dormant through the winter. We were in close contact with our source for weeks before scheduling a date to come source our share of the early spring produce. It was an exciting day, and we floated out of the factory in an unabashedly elated state!
