Single Serving Gaiwan

First, I love the store, prices (of the tea)and the service. The rating is strictly on the product itself.

The size is quite perfect for quick sips while working in the office.
But the price is not worth it and the quality has a lot to be desired.

The previous review that mentions that the color does not match (with their tea cups), jagged edges on the underside of the lid, lid not fitting is still present - probably means their stock is still the same and you will get something similar. It seems they still do not check before it gets sent.

The product itself was well protected.

Once I mentioned this to the store, they offered a replacement. I did not want another one with the same flaw, so we figured out other ways. The communication / service was great so I truly appreciate it.

I love this little Gaiwan. It's a great color and size, perfect for brewing small samples of a new tea I'm just getting used to, or more concentrated small servings during the day.

The quality of this gaiwan compared to its price is disappointing. Other sellers carry similar gaiwans that are $5-10 dollars and had I paid that price for this, I'd probably be perfectly happy.

The gaiwan arrived with a slight chip in the lid - it was well packed with lots of bubble wrap and the chipped off piece of porcelain was not in the box, so I'm pretty sure it was put in the box that way. The lid isn't a perfect fit to the cup, so it usually sits at an angle. The porcelain is a lot cooler white than the teacup I purchased to match it (the same one that's in the photo above).

Anyway, it's a good small size and works well, but I don't think it's worth the price.

This gaiwan is aesthetically pleasing and perfect for small servings. I bought multiple and use them for horizontal tea tastings!
