HomeNewsRoasted Shan Lin Xi High Mountain Oolong | Eco-Cha Teas
It's the above award that inspired us to have the second half of our winter 2021 stock of Shan Lin Xi High Mountain Oolong roasted by our close friend who cultivated it. He entered his own roasted version from this same crop into the Lugu Farmers" Association Dong Ding Oolong Tea competition and received Top Category Award (within the top 2% of all entries). When we heard the news, we promptly requested his services to roast the remainder of our procured share in the same fashion as this top award winning tea!
They guy who manages this Shan Lin Xi Tea farm is also our source of Traditional Dong Ding Oolong Tea. He's our closest tea farmer friend. We've known each other for 20 years or so, but have become lifelong friends in recent years. We spend more time in his home tea factory than any other. We also visit this high mountain tea farm on a seasonal basis. Our understanding of the local tea farming industry has mostly been offered from him. But even before we knew this guy, we were proclaiming that Shan Lin Xi High Mountain Oolong Tea is Taiwan's finest since the early 1990's!
The photo above was taken when we introduced Batch 79 of the Eco-Cha Tea Club. This is the very same batch of tea. We initially prepared this roasted version of our winter 2021 batch of Shan Lin Xi High Mountain Oolong exclusively for the Eco-Cha Tea Club. We still have about 1/3 of the overall amount of tea that was roasted to share as part of our Limited Edition Series.
Here we are tasting and talking about this batch of tea once again, simply because it's well worthwhile!
