Wenshan Baozhong Spring 2022 Sourcing Trip | Eco-Cha Teas
Above is a map of our Wenshan Baozhong sourcing trip from Bamboo Mountain (Zhushan) in southern Nantou County to the Pinglin District in the greater Taipei Area. Pinglin has deep history in Taiwan Tea culture, and Wenshan Baozhong is among the top 5 most famous Taiwan Tea types. Although the actual quantity of Wenshan Baozhong Tea is less than 2% of the overall tea produced in Taiwan! So Wenshan Baozhong, along with Emei Oriental Beauty and Muzha Tie Guan Yin, can all be considered rare and precious commodities in the tea world at large!
Above we can see the Pinglin District to the southeast of Taipei, but still within New Taipei City limits. Pinglin is not far at all from Taiwan's largest metropolis, but it feels more remote and rural than most developed regions on the island of Taiwan. It really feels like a relic of the past, in stark contrast to the modern city nearby. This rural community that produces a world-renowned tea is a historical landmark in its own right. We are privileged to represent this specialty tea in the international tea community. Come along for the rainy ride with us to source this spring's batch of Wenshan Baozhong Tea!
