Award-Winning Dong Ding Oolong Tea 2024 | Eco-Cha Tea Club

Lugu Dong Ding Oolong Tea Champion Award

Batch 108 of the Eco-Cha Tea Club is an Award-Winning Dong Ding Oolong Tea. This batch achieved Third Place Category in Taiwan's Lugu Farmers' Association Dong Ding Oolong Tea Competition, spring 2024. Our source of this tea also won Champion Prize in this same competition, comprised of over 4,776 entries. Nearly half of all entries are disqualified, and the remaining entries are ranked into several award categories and packaged in the certified farmers' association packaging. These award-winning teas boast a much higher market value, and are often purchased to be given as gifts among family, friends, and business associates.

Lugu Dong Ding Oolong Tea Competition Champion Prize Winner

Our ongoing source of Lugu Competition Dong Ding Oolong Tea finally achieved his career goal by winning the Champion Prize in Taiwan's flagship tea competition. The Lugu Farmers' Association was the first to produce a tea competition that promoted its local specialty tea. The tea judging and promotional methodology developed in this competition has been emulated by virtually all tea competitions in Taiwan and beyond.

Masterful roasting is a prominent factor in making an award-winning Dong Ding Oolong Tea. Our source has developed his roasting skills to a level that has gained him a solid reputation in the local industry. We are fortunate enough to procure the remaining amounts of batches of tea that he prepares for competition.

We've learned about this competition through our close friend and mentor Tony Lin, who spent the better part of his career developing it. Tony retired in 2020, after the competition had been produced for 40 plus years. His work continues to guide and inspire the tea industry in Taiwan. Read more about the competition here.
